Breathwork and Movement Coaching
-
How often do you notice your own breath? Breath is a subtle but powerful function within the body. Our breath is central to supporting our health and wellbeing. Breathing is connected to our parasympathetic nervous system that regulates our digestion and our ability to rest after activation (fight or flight). Breath can be utilized to support us through experiences such as anxiety or grief. Alex facilitates emergent breathwork and movement for somatic release with individuals and communities feel more present and connected to themselves, other people and their environment.
What is Emergent Breathwork and Movement?
Emergent Breathwork is the practice of learning how to consciously connect with our breath to decrease feelings of dysregulation and increase our ability to connect with what makes us feel alive. Emergent Breathwork utilizes the technique of diaphragmatic and rhythmic breathing to support individuals with up-regulation or down-regulation within the body. Movement is incorporated to create comfort within the body either before, after or during the breathwork practice. This can look like intentional shaking, holding shapes and poses and exploring space with the body. These movements are coupled with breathwork to integrate the somatic processing. This practice is individualized and based upon the needs of the participant(s).
Who can benefit from Emergent Breathwork and Movement?
Anyone can benefit from Emergent Breathwork and Movement! This experience is for anyone who is curious about learning new skills around managing stressors, increasing self awareness and holistic healing. Breathwork and movement are accessible ways to improve your quality of life.
*Emergent Breathwork and Movement is not meant to replace working with a licensed behavioral health provider.
